About Steven J Greco

Steven J. Greco, PhD, of Pinehurst, TX, is a leading figure in the field of regenerative medicine. As the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of PranaX Corporation, a Houston-based biomedical research and applications company, he has demonstrated his expertise in life sciences. His study of biological science at Cornell University, along with his doctoral work in biomedical science with a concentration in stem cell biology at Rutgers, has paved the way for his impressive success in leveraging the biology of exosomes to drive specific regenerative processes in humans. His knowledge of how the processing and development of certain chemicals can reverse damaged or inflamed tissue and organs, which can, in turn, slow down age-related decline in appearance and improve the quality of health in later years, is particularly notable.

Greco’s work with many early-stage biotech companies gave him critical experiences in multiple aspects of drug development and inspired his interest in stem cell biology and regenerative processes. He was the Co-founder of Rejenevie Therapeutics and the Chief Scientific Officer for Houston Healthspan Innovation Group, both of which are regenerative medicine companies acquired to serve as subsidiaries of PranaX, which he launched in 2022. PranaX serves as a vehicle in which Greco leverages his professional knowledge and university research on Alzheimer’s disease and other complications of aging to develop several in vitro diagnostics and biomarker identification processes.

Over the past 2 decades, Steven has been unwavering in his commitment to research and training as a stem cell biologist. His contributions to regenerative and translational medicine, a scientific field that translates scientific discoveries from the lab into clinical practice and therapeutic applications, are numerous. Greco’s passion for teaching the next generation of scientists the latest theories and practices of rejuvenation medicine is evident through the Stem Cell Education Society, which he founded to raise public awareness about stem cell applications and give presentations to students, scientists, and colleagues.

EDUCATION

Steven J. Greco began his studies at Cornell University, where he studied Biological Sciences, with a concentration in Animal Physiology, a path of study that would lay the foundation for his immense knowledge of animal (including human) anatomy, physiology, and biology. After graduating from Cornell in 2000, Greco enrolled in the graduate program at Rutgers University where he obtained a Masters in Biomedical Sciences, a logical path of study for Steven who had developed an increasingly intense interest in multiple natural sciences (chemistry, biology, physics)  and their relation to the human body’s ability to fight disease and injury..

In 2007, Steven obtained his Ph.D. from Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Stem Cell Biology. While there, he was intimately involved in the Rameshwar Lab, an innovative research think-tank led by Dr. Rameshwar, who was executing state-of-the-art research on stem cell biology and its applications in various fields, particularly in hematology and oncology. Greco served as a Research Associate and Administrative Liaison. Most notably, Steven managed preclinical development of cell restoration technology research that had been contracted to Rutgers, and he was part of a team that investigated the interaction of breast cancer and mesenchymal stem cells in bone marrow.

CAREER

For over 20 years, Dr. Steven J. Greco has been unwavering in his commitment to expanding stem cell research and contributing to the regenerative and translational medicine knowledge base. His early position with Neurotez Inc. as Vice President of research and development, a company focused on Alzheimer’s disease drug discovery, early-stage development, and basic research, was a significant milestone in his career and a testament to his dedication to the field.

He then served as Principal Scientist at Cell Health Institute in Newark, NJ, where he developed proprietary technology to restore aging blood stem cell function. Some of his early research and development work was in conjunction with Rutgers University and funded by BBLS. He would go on to manage the Life Sciences Portfolio at Woody Creek Capital Partners before co-founding Rejenevie Therapeutics.

At Rejenevie, he served as Director of Research in 2015, then took on the role of Chief Scientific Officer, where he guided research primarily focused on approaches to restore function to the aging immune system. During this same period, Dr. Greco was also Lead Research Analyst and Chief Scientific Officer at Houston Healthspan Innovation Group, now a PranaX subsidiary. Houston Healthspan has been pivotal in reshaping how medical professionals treat age-related diseases. The company specializes in providing scientific platforms that include stem cell isolation devices, regenerative medicine therapies, and healing amplification solutions.

Steven J. Greco is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of PranaX, a role in which he applies his expertise in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine to benefit the general public. PranaX offers a suite of healthcare solutions aimed at increasing life expectancy and decreasing the occurrence of negative health factors. The company leverages stem cells and cutting-edge exosome therapies to rejuvenate aging, inflamed, and damaged tissues and organs.

After launching PranaX in 2023, Dr. Greco has raised $20 million to aid in the company’s research and development missions. He is the proud holder of many scientific and technological patents and the writer of numerous publications on Alzheimer’s and aging. Steven has been awarded by the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology for multiple years.
